JEAN VAN WYK
Jean Van Wyk is the product design manager at CADDS Product Innovation + Design, set apart by a relentless dedication to his craft. As a multimedia designer, Jean has extensive experience performing highly in different fields such as manufacturing, prototyping, plastics and quality control. After completing his Diploma of Industrial Design in 1999, Jean gained employment as a product designer at a major compliance company in South Africa.
His hands-on experience in plastic designs, supporting assembly lines and dealing directly with manufacturers gave him the knowledge to venture out on his own for six years as a product design contractor. During this time, Jean worked with various industries, from fibreglass components for busses and boats, to sand casting, vacuum forming for point of sale, 3D tool modelling for the automotive industry, design and drafting for mining. Jean moved his family to Perth in 2009 and is now spreading his wings as part of CADDS Group’s latest division.
Norbert is a senior product designer at CADDS Product Innovation + Design with a passion for design, watching ideas take shape and eventually come to life. Originally a seasoned graphic designer hailing from Mauritius, Norbert spent three years with a major French publishing company working on magazines and commercial adverts. With the need for a new adventure, he travelled to Australia to undertake a Bachelor of Art at Curtin University, where he majored in product and furniture design, whilst also acting as a sessional lecturer at Curtin College itself.
Norbert has now worked as a product designer for over nine years, combined with 12 years of SolidWorks experience. In this time he has contributed to an array of projects, from consumer goods through to vehicle accessories, specialising in injection moulding and mould design. Being a creative problem solver, Norbert has a knack for simple solutions to complex problems and uses his design flair to create unique concepts with photorealistic renders.
